  1. Mayor's Office

  2. City Manager's Office

    The City Manager’s Office is responsible for implementing City Council policies and for overseeing all operational departments.

  3. City Clerk's Office

    The City Clerk provides notice of City Council meetings, prepares the agenda and records proceedings. The Clerk is custodian of all permanent City records, is the Chief Election Officer for municipal elections, and is the ex-officio secretary of multiple boards and commissions.

  4. Building Inspections & Code Enforcement

    The Building Inspection Department reviews plans, issues permits, and city business licenses. Code Officials ensure that construction complies with the cities codes and ordinances. The Code Enforcement staff’s purpose is to protect the public health, safety, and welfare in existing buildings. They enforce the city ordinances regarding structural issues, trash and high grass along with following the ICC codes.   5. Finance

    Finance responsibilities include budgeting, financial reporting, accounting, debt administration, payroll, utility billing and collections.

  6. Fire Department

    To maintain safety and ensure a high quality of life by educating, protecting, and serving our community with the resources provided.

  7. Human Resources

    Human Resources advises management on recruitment and hiring. Responsibilities include classification and pay, employee relations, equal employment opportunities, training, benefits and employee safety.

  8. Legal Department & Municipal Court

    The Municipal Court office handles cases processed by the Weirton Police Department

  9. Mary H. Weir Public Library

    The Mary H. Weir Public Library is there to provide access to information, materials, programs, technology, and a space serving the information and entertainment needs of the citizens of the Weirton community.

  10. Parks & Recreation

    The Parks and Recreation Department provides a variety of recreation, sports, fitness and wellness programs. It develops and maintains a system of parks, the community center, the athletic fields and other facilities.

  11. Planning and Development

    The Planning & Development Department is responsible for current planning, which involves zoning and land use regulations, as well as comprehensive planning, which establishes guidelines for the future growth of the City by addressing broad community issues. The department oversees the development, updating, and implementation of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) as well as the City’s Comprehensive Plan.

  13. Public Works

    The Public Works Department has a wide range of responsibilities, including solid waste collection, conservation programs, electrical, sign shop, and the maintenance of the City streets, parks, buildings and vehicles.

    The Weirton Transit Corporation offers bus services throughout the City of Weirton.
