Staff Overview
The City of Weirton Fire Department is a combination fire department. The paid staff is comprised of 22 full time career civil service firefighters all of which are suppression members, a full time Fire Chief, and Secretary.
Currently 19 career staff, 2 volunteer division members, and the Fire Chief are certified EMTs; and 2 career staff are EMT Paramedics. The volunteer division has 2 suppression members.
The City of Weirton Fire Department operates 4 stations; 2 stations are manned full time by the career paid staff, 1 station houses a regional training center, reserve pumper, and serves as winter storage for the boat, 1 station is staffed by the volunteer division members.

The City of Weirton Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau conducts fire safety training annually for the school systems, preschools, day cares, and civic organizations. The Fire Prevention Program utilizes both station tours and site visits and has approximately 1,500 student contacts per year in the elementary and preschool settings. The City of Weirton Fire Department also operates a Fire Safety Trailer for the Fire Safety Program. The City of Weirton Fire Department also conducts public education in fire extinguisher usage and fire safety education.
