Curbside Recycling Program

Curbside Recycling for the removal of co-mingled metal cans, glass, co-mingled newspaper and corrugated cardboard is collected on a biweekly basis.

Handling Instructions
Newspapers Remove plastic delivery bag and inserts (coupons, flyers, etc.).
Bundle and place beside recycling bin.
Aluminum and Steel Cans
No aluminum foil, food trays, paint cans, or non-food containers.
Rinse containers, remove lids, and place into recycling bin. There is no need to sort.
Glass No glass blocks, light bulbs, ceramics, heat treated or plate glass, headlights, windshields, mirrors, or non-food containers.
Rinse containers, remove lids, and place in recycling bin. There is no need to sort.
Corrugated Cardboard
No pizza boxes, cereal boxes, soda cartons, or boxes with gloss (shiny) finish.
Break down, bundle, and place beside recycling bin.

Containers for the Curbside Recycling Program

Containers for the Curbside Recycling Program shall be blue in color and a max volume of 32 Gallons and are manufactured of a heavy duty plastic material. They should be labeled "City of Weirton Recycling." The containers are available for purchase from the City of Weirton.
