Effective July 1, 2025 new Parking Permit requirements go into effect.
Per City of Weirton Ordinance No. 2246, residents in the following areas must obtain Parking Permits:
Orchard Street
3400 Block of Zeta Street
Washington Street
West side of Cross Street from its intersection with School Street to its intersection with Church Street
West side of Preston Avenue from the alley south to the school property
3900 Block of Grant Street between Orr Street and Heaslett Avenue
Cost per Permit:
$5.00 per permit annually
$22.00 per permit for 5 years (only available to a Weirton resident who owns and occupies their home)
Requirements:
Submit an application (link below to print or visit the City Clerk's Office, Room 102 of the Municipal Building).
Possess a valid West Virginia driver’s license, a current West Virginia vehicle registration, and valid proof of insurance. Unless otherwise indicated, all documents must have the address for which the permit(s) is sought and be provided when the application is submitted.
In the case of a company-owned or leased vehicle, the resident must provide verification from the vehicle owner that the vehicle is assigned to the resident.
If in the process of moving, the resident must provide a Weirton utility bill showing the address for which the permit(s) are being requested.
If a resident changes vehicles, the old permit(s) must be surrendered prior to receipt of a new permit(s).
Permits are non-transferable and must be relinquished back to the City in the event the resident no longer lives at said residence.
No refunds will be issued for any unused time remaining on the permit(s).
Up to TWO Primary Permits (one per vehicle not to exceed two vehicles) and ONE Visitor Permit may be authorized. Permits are valid beginning July 1 through June 30 of each year.
