With skill and determination, the Special Olympics Hancock County, WV Pride Team crushed the Weirton Fire Department at the 2025 Disability Independence Celebration’s
Flag Football game with a score of 107 to 14.
To recognize the athletes for their monumental win, Dr. JK and Dolly Luthra provided sponsorship to the Disability Independence Celebration Committee to have championship medals created. Mayor Dean Harris and City Manager Michael Adams presented the medals to the athletes yesterday congratulating them on their victory.
