Laughter Takes Center Stage at Weir High School
Weirton, WV – Get ready to chuckle! The Weir High School Drama Club proudly presents Slapdash! Ninenado! – its ninth annual comedy improv show– on Friday, May 16th at 7:00 PM in the Weir High School auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 PM.
Tickets are $10 at the door and are also available for purchase on the school’s website. The performance is family-friendly and open to the public.
Directed and hosted by Weir High’s theater director and Thespian sponsor Corey E. Miller, Slapdash! Ninenado! promises a night of quick wit, outrageous characters, and laugh-out-loud moments—all made up on the spot.
“This show is pure, playful chaos,” said Miller. “We have no idea what’s going to happen, and that’s the best part. The audience gives us the suggestions, and we run with it. It’s comedy without a seatbelt.”
The fully unscripted performance relies on audience input to inspire characters, settings, and scenarios that evolve in real-time. The result is a totally unique comedy experience.
“If you’ve had a stressful week or just want to have a good time, this is the show to see,” Miller added. “I guarantee you’ll laugh—probably a lot. The students are quick, clever, and absolutely fearless on stage.”
The show features a cast of talented student performers: Max Bilodeau, Levi Anderson, Makenzie Stear, Lyla Soplinski, Andrew Sikora, and Eve Swearingen, with Emma Underwood serving as student stage manager.
“We’re all about having fun—and making sure the audience does too,” Miller said. “By the end of the night, your face will hurt from smiling.”
