[ARCHIVED] POWER OUTAGE AT WMCC WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2024

WEIRTON — Due to a planned power outage in the downtown area that may affect the City of Weirton Municipal Plaza, the Weirton Millsop Community Center will be closed from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

Because several areas of the building will be unsafe without power, the temporary closure is unavoidable.

If power is restored prior to 12 p.m., WMCC will reopen ahead of schedule.

There is some chance the outage could last longer than expected so all patrons of WMCC are encouraged to call ahead before visiting the facility.

The management staff and Weirton Park Board regret any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause.

For more information, check back here, call WMCC at (304) 797-8520, or check the Park Board's webpage at the link below. Because WMCC phones operate on a VOIP system, no answer a direct to voicemail call likely indicates the power is still down.
