WEIRTON – An extensive repair to a city sewer line in the Municipal Complex will result in the closure of the Weirton Millsop Community Center (WMCC) for at least Sunday and Monday, March 3-4, 2024.
Crews worked throughout the day on Friday and Saturday in hopes of relieving line blockage and completing a line repair but damage to the line proved to be extensive enough to require the use of heavier equipment.
The work not only limits access to the main customer service entrance of WMCC, but has also reduced the drainage capacity of WMCC’s primary facilities to the point that normal operation is impossible until repairs are complete.
WMCC is expected to open at some point in some capacity on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
