Weirton continued the celebration of our Earth with the City's first Earth Day Event on Friday, April 25, at Marland Heights Park. Attendees were quizzed on their Earth Day knowledge, given tree saplings, planted seeds, and enjoyed many more Earth Day themed activities.
Shout out to Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network, Northern Panhandle Parents as Teachers, Hancock County Family and Community Support Center, and Cub Scout Pack 34 for providing fun, interactive activities for attendees.
Special thank you to the Mon Power/ FirstEnergy Green Team for providing the tree saplings; Shop 'n Save of Weirton for the yummy cookies; and Busy Beaver for suppling seeds and soil.
This event was a great addition to our community that we hope continues to grow!
