The City of Weirton is partnering up again with the Weirton Festival Committee to collect food and toys for the Salvation Army to help those in need during the holiday season. Collection of food and toys will take place until Monday, December 9, 2024. Those wishing to donate can take non-perishable food items and/or new toys to the following locations:
- City Municipal Building (Front Lobby)
- Fire Department Stations (Gilson Avenue and Municipal Plaza)
- Millsop Community Center
- Mary H. Weir Public Library
To encourage contributions for this year’s food and toy drive, attendees of the Christmas on Main Street event who bring a new toy and/or a non-perishable food item to the Weirton Room of the Millsop Community Center between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024 will receive a ticket for the 50/50 drawing being held at the event. Tickets will not be given per each item, multiple contributions in one day, or each member of a group and/or family. Each family, group, or person will receive one ticket only.
