Governor Jim Justice announced in November 2020 that Gruppo Fanti, a metal packaging manufacturing company headquartered in Bologna, Italy, would be opening its first U.S.-based plant in Weirton.
Today, October 12, 2023, state, federal. and local officials joined the Fanti family to celebrate their grand opening with a ribbon cutting at their new facility.
Gruppo Fanti plans to invest $30 Million into the Weirton Plant and initially 40 new full-time jobs, or as Nicola De Santis Gruppo Fanti Group CFO and Board Member would say invest in 40 people to join the Fanti family.
