The City of Weirton Administrative Offices will be closed Thursday, January 1, 2026 and Friday, January 2, 2026 in celebration of New Years. The Public Works and Weirton Transit schedules are as follows:
Public Works – Offices will be closed Thursday, January 1, 2026 and Friday, January 2, 2026. Changes to the collection of garbage and recyclable schedules are as follows:
- Thursday, January 1, 2026 – Will be picked up on Friday, January 2, 2026
- Friday, January 2, 2026 – Will be picked up on Saturday, January 3, 2026

Weirton Ride – Offices will BE CLOSED and NO ROUTES will run on Thursday, January 1, 2026. On Friday, January 2, 2026, offices will be closed and only the Saturday Route will run.
