[ARCHIVED] New play system being installed at Starvaggi Park

WEIRTON – The Weirton Board of Parks is proud to announce that a new play system is being installed at Starvaggi Memorial Park.

Work on equipment installation will begin Friday, May 19 and be completed in about a week.

While work is ongoing, some portions of the playground will be closed to visitors and all visitors to the park should observe closures which are intended to ensure public safety.

The Park Board urges visitors to the park to steer clear of any areas marked by safety barriers and where playground work is being done.

The nearly $300,000 playground upgrade is being made possible by a joint effort between the Starvaggi Park Civic Association, Weirton Park Board and City of Weirton.

Any questions regarding availability of the park and play structures can be directed to the Park Board’s main offices at (304) 797-8520.

The Park Board appreciates the cooperation of the public as this temporary closure

facilities a permanent benefit.
