Weir High School annually holds a donation event for charity around Thanksgiving. The students bring in canned items and/or non-perishable food to help supply Charities. Though it never seemed to be enough, and as the students were informed, food ran low. This year in order to help raise the stocks of food, for every item brought the students is given a paper feather. These feathers can be given to whichever teacher they wish. At the end when all the food is turned in, the amount of feathers each teacher has is tallied. Whichever teacher has the most feathers is tarred and feathered in front of the student body by the students who donated the most. The event adds a bit of fun and competition between not only the students, but the teachers as well. This helps raise the amount of food brought for a very good and notable cause.
