WEIRTON – The Weirton Millsop Community Center (WMCC) was officially closed as an emergency shelter on Saturday afternoon and has returned to normal recreation operations.
WMCC will be open regular winter hours through Memorial Day Weekend barring unforeseen closures. Regular hours are Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with all workout locations within WMCC available to its patrons.
The Weirton Board of Parks & Recreation appreciates the loyalty and understanding of its regular patrons during this reason winter storm crisis.
The Park Board would also like to thank the many city departments, government entities, government officials, civic and social assistance organizations, churches, members of the business community and members of the general public for coming together quickly in a great team effort to respond with help for our neighbors in need.
