[ARCHIVED] Weir High Drama Club "A Charlie Brown Christmas" event

Press Release

Meet Snoopy and the entire Peanuts gang LIVE this holiday season!

Weirton- The Weir High Drama Club proudly announces A Charlie Brown Christmas! The show is based upon the hit television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, and it features all of your favorite Peanuts characters created by Charles M. Schultz. It was adapted for stage by Eric Schaeffer and is being produced by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC.

Corey E. Miller, Language Arts teacher/Thespian sponsor is directing the production. He is assisted by Abbigail Keenan (student stage manager).

Distraught over commercialism, Charlie Brown is feeling blue. His good friend, Lucy, suggests that Charlie try directing the neighborhood Christmas play as a cure. As usual, Charlie's plans are spoiled when the other kids mock his Christmas tree selection. That is until Linus reveals the true meaning of Christmas!

The show stars Jason Lipovich as Charlie Brown, Delaney O'Neill as Lucy, and Tanner Finsley as Linus. Additional principal cast members are Matt Jagela as Shroeder and Lyla Soplinski as Sally. Josafina Bennett, Saavy Swidowski, Brianna Swain, Leanna Bissett, Rylie Baker, Haley Mazon, Logan Wagner, and Eve Swearingen round out the cast.

Tickets are $7.00 at the door. Performance dates are Friday, December 3rd at 7PM and Saturday, December 4th at 7PM. Doors open to the public at 6:30PM. Seating will be limited and all patrons must wear a face mask while on school grounds.
