Red Hot in Hancock is back next weekend for the 3rd Annual Chili for Children cook-off at the Weirton Event Center, Saturday, October 14, 2017, 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Red Hot in Hancock is a free admission-family event with chili tasting, a motorcycle raffle, silent auction, vendors and live entertainment.
Cooks are arriving from as far away as South Carolina and New Jersey to join our local cooks to make their special chili and salsa and complete for a $1,400 prize purse.
Chili tasting tickets are available 2 for $1 at the door and all event proceeds benefit A Child’s Place CASA, Ltd. “CASA” stands for “Court Appointed Special Advocates.” CASA provides trained advocates for children involved with the court system in Brooke, Hancock and Jefferson Counties.
This year's Red Hot in Hancock Chili for Children event is expanding as a mini-fundraiser for other non-profit organizations serving the community. Stop by the following tables for something to go with all that chili: Family Connections for Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Cove Presbyterian Church for Chili Dogs or the Steubenville YWCA for Corn bread.
Several Vendors are turning Red Hot in Hancock into a special fundraising event. Lu La Roe and Premier Designs Jewelry from Jamie will both be donating a portion of their sales during the event.
