City of Weirton Ward II Councilman, Christopher Jonczak, is a lifelong resident of Weirton, WV.

He was born at Weirton Medical Center on March 2, 1983.  Chris and his amazing wife, Hilary, live in Ward II with their three boys, Christopher, Dominic, and Rocco.

Councilman Jonczak is a devout Catholic and served as an altar server while attending St. Joseph the Worker Elementary School. Chris graduated from Weir High School.

Following high school, Chris enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and was injured in combat during a tour in Sangin, Afghanistan, in 2011. Chris, a decorated Marine, was medically retired due to combat related injuries in 2013.

Councilman Jonczak endured 12 surgeries after serving in Afghanistan to make him mobile enough to re-enter the workforce. He started in the oil and gas industry, working there for six years until he was injured in an accident.  After "consulting with his wife" he decided to go a safer route and was blessed enough to land a job at 84 Lumber as an Installed Sales Manager

Chris has also served as a member of St. Joseph the Worker School Advisory Board, and has been coaching  kids in baseball for the past 17 straight seasons and soccer at the Millsop Community Center.

On October 20, 2021, Chris was unanimously voted in by the City Council to serve as the representative of Ward II.

When Councilman Jonczak is not working, you will find him on the water kayaking or in the woods camping with his family.
