Connecting or Reconnecting Water Service
Customers wishing to connect or reconnect water service will need to go to the Weirton Municipal Building utilities cashier window to complete and sign an Application for Water Service contract and provide photo identification. Any customer who is renting or leasing will be required to provide a copy of the current lease or rent receipt. Returning customers are required to submit payment in full for any delinquent account balance prior to receiving new service.
A $50 water meter deposit and $25 water connection fee are due at the time of application, payable with cash, check, or credit card.
Connects are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis for the next business day or later.
Disconnecting Water Service
Customers disconnecting water service will need to go to the Weirton Municipal Building utilities cashier window to complete a Discontinuance of Service form and provide photo identification. The customer of record has to be the same person to sign the disconnect form.
Disconnects are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis for the next business day or later. It is important to know that the customer's account will continue to be charged until water service is terminated with the above instructions. The customer of record is responsible for paying the utility bill generated from the final reading of the water meter.
