NEW BUSINESS
1. An Ordinance Approving the “Public Infrastructure Project No. 1 – Park Drive Extension” Located Within “The City of Weirton Three Springs Drive TIF District No. 1”; Authorizing the Development of Financing Arrangements and Providing for Other Matters in Connection Therewith/ and Adopting Other Provisions Related Thereto
It was moved by Councilman Dalrymple to accept this ordinance and second by Councilman DeMasis.
Councilman Moore made the comment that it was known for sometime, that the Three Springs Drive Industrial Park has been a very attractive piece of property, but raw! It is undeveloped, with limited access by road, and utilities. This step, hopefully, will provide the access needed for businesses to come in invest, develop, and provide jobs for the city. This is a form of government aide to the business. However, if the business leaves we still have the infrastructure. This providing of investment will attract, as there has been businesses who say they are interested if they could access further parcels of the industrial park. This road will hopefully bring that to fruition.
No other comments.
This motion was carried by majority rule with a 6-0 vote.
