[ARCHIVED] PRESS RELEASE – CITY OF WEIRTON – PHONE SYSTEM UPGRADE

PRESS RELEASE – CITY OF WEIRTON – PHONE SYSTEM UPGRADE

The City of Weirton is pleased to announce that the phone system upgrade is complete.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

NO NEW NUMBERS OR EXTENSIONS:  Main number is still 304-797-8500 and the departmental phone numbers and/or extensions remain the same.

NEW PHONE TREE: A new phone tree was implemented for a more efficient calling experience. Please listen carefully to the options provided to get the department and/or person you are seeking.

BEST PRACTICE IF YOU DO NOT KNOW A NUMBER :  Not sure where to call to reach a department and/or person? Call the main number at 304-797-8500 and follow the prompts to reach the department and/or person you  need.

UTILITY PAYMENTS:   If you need help or have questions regarding a bill, please call 304-797-8500, Ext. 1017 or 1018.

WATER EMERGENCY: Call 304-797-8566 for all water related emergencies.

SEWAGE EMERGENCY: Call 304-797-8550 for all sewage related emergencies.

Some numbers and/or extensions are no longer valid. All existing numbers and/or extensions have been the same for the past five years. Using a number and/or extension from the internet may not be correct. Dialing the City’s main number, 304-797-8500, is the best way to reach the department and/or person you need.

The City of Weirton appreciates your patience as we upgraded our phone system. We expect the new system to be more efficient but welcome your feedback. Please forward suggestions to improve your experience by calling 304-797-8500 , ext. 1002/1003.
